I noticed that I need shatter proof ornaments, home made ornaments, as well as more variety on the Christmas tree. Growing up we made many ornaments so I wanted to start doing that with my kids. 
I am starting small - with pre-cut, pre-designed, foam arts and craft activities but will eventually move on to some more difficult decorations. Dave and I worked hard at letting them design the ornaments as they wanted - showing them what the picture looked like but allowing them to add their personal touches.
Christmas music was playing in the background and when we were finished we watched the Christmas show (again) that matched the ornaments, "Rodolph The Red Nosed Reindeer." The Abominable Snowman scares Luke - even though Cora tries to tell him that "he is nice soon - Luke, watch!)"
