The snow was supposed to stop on Wednesday by noon. . . unfortunately it didn't stop until around 9pm. We didn't get the wind gusts that further South and East faced but the storm kept circling and dumping more and more snow on us. Here are the final totals for our area:
Our total snow fall between the two Blizzards was 4 FEET of snow. . . let that sink in a second. . . 4 FEET OF SNOW!!!!!!
Dave was out . . . AGAIN . . .trying to plow Wednesday morning - he had plowed Tuesday night and then tried Wednesday morning. The sun didn't make an appearance at all on Wednesday.
You can see the 5.5' fence in the background, at this point there was no place to put the snow - this was the problem down the driveway - we had pushed the snow back as far as we could but the snow banks on either side were so high there was no place left to put it.
SURRENDER!!!! After trying to make our driveway passable - Dave finally gave up and when the kids were down for naps we enjoyed some cold beverages in the hot tub. Even down under the deck, next to the house where it is pretty protected both of us had snow covered heads when we got out after sitting for about 30 minutes!!!
Once Cora woke up some of the neighborhood kids came down for a quick visit mid-Blizzard. The top of the mound had been "cleared" of snow from all the sledding so they could actually stand up without being swallowed by the snow.
The dog - Sampson - and Dave tried to walk through the front yard. . . didn't go well because anywhere there wasn't a path already made was a mess.
About 4pm we decided to take a look at the roof because of the massive snowfall. . .this is the view out of our upstairs windows.
Dave got a broom and pushed off as much as he could from the windows where he could get some snow off. Tomorrow (Thursday) it is supposed to be some SUNLIGHT so that should melt off what he wasn't able to push off.
