Christmas on the Eastern Shore!
We arrived in Princess Anne, MD in the mid-afternoon on Christmas Eve. The kids were over excited from the morning but calmed down during the drive while watching their new movies that Santa brought but then became overexcited again as soon as we arrived!!
Grandad helped to calm them down by playing blocks with them and Dave took them out for a walk in the yard. They didn't stay outside long because the weather was cold because a winter storm was headed in to town!!
We brought the Christmas DVDs so after a *delicious* dinner they watched Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and went off to bed!
The next morning we all woke up (not too early because everyone was exhausted) and opened presents.
After playing with their new toys, having breakfast and too many snacks we tried to get them to sleep. Both adults fell asleep but only one kid actually slept (Luke). Later, my sister and her family arrived. Making the family Christmas complete included Gwen and Jay, Jay's parents - Ed and Sherry, and the kids - Andrew, Molly, and Landon.
Another round of presents (lucky children) was next along with lots of cheers and celebration for the first snowflakes started to fall (and didn't stop falling until over 10" of snow landed).
Cora opening her present, a HUGE bin of arts and crafts (all I can think of is mess, mess, mess).
Luke and Andrew opening presents.
The grandkids trying to help Grandad open his fishing pole and wondering when they can go fishing with him and when they get to go on a "boat ride."
The twins Molly and Landon awaken from their naps to open presents.
Lastly, was a wonderful Christmas dinner.
The food was delicious.
The family was delightful.
The laughter was plentiful.
A wonderful Christmas in 2010. . . finally a parting shot of the early snow and a house full of happy children - fast asleep!!!
We had to leave early because of the impending snow so our visit was cut short. We have one last Christmas to celebrate - with Dave's family - we are headed there on Thursday for a big lunch and then off to Hershey Park for their lights celebration and to ride on some rides!! See Part III for details! ;-)
