It is time for Luke to join big sister Cora at Pre-School. Cora had been attending two days a week since last November and now that Luke is finally potty trained (mostly) we decided he is ready. We upped the days a week to three days a week because we were so happy with the program and teachers. Cora LOVES the Pre-School and she talks a mile a minute about everything she does there. I really enjoy seeing her development, she has learned so much and when we do activities, arts & crafts, and read books at home I love when she compares it to stuff she does at school. My morning routine expanded again, but Dave is a huge help. Three days a week, we pack breakfast (brown bags above) and lunch (lunch box/bag). It is a lot of bags to carry out of the house (including their nap stuff) but it is worth it!
Below, Cora is showing Luke where to put his stuff. His cubby is right next to where hers used to be when she was in the "Yellow Room" (3 year olds). His cubby has a blue gorilla with his name on it (Cora is blocking it), and in the bottom is his nap stuff - pillow, blanket, stuffed animal. He said, "Mommy, take a picture of my with my cubby." When I woke him up that morning he jumped out of bed and got dressed quickly. He was so excited!!
"Mommy, take a picture of me in my chair." He was well behaved for his first few days, now that we are on our second week - he is starting to show his true colors (defiance, sensitivity, stubbornness). But his teachers like him, admit his temper can be a problem, but say he is doing great.
Cora really enjoys having him at school. She goes in to check on him a lot. When he is having fun Luke tells her, "Cora - go back to your blue room." Although, he does want her to hug him anytime he gets upset, so I don't think he is ready for her to stop checking in on him yet!
Very happy with the decision for both of them to go to school!
