Visit to Grammy's for the Pleasant Gap Carnival and Parade

In central Pennsylvania they still have small town carnivals and parades. Dave's home town has their carnival and parade the last weekend of July each year. We haven't been able to attend for a few years but there was time in the calendar this year for a visit.
Some of the cousins together before heading to the carnival. From Left to Right: Tatianna, Micaela, Brianna, Cora and Luke.
Grammy (Dave's mom) bought them a bracelet where the kids ride all night for one price.
Ice cream at carnivals seem to be a requirement (or maybe just my weakness). Cora was kissing Luke to give him a "chocolate kiss." The carnival was a hit and the kids slept well that evening. Next up was the parade.
Firetrucks, bands, VFWs, police, cheerleaders, and many others drive/walk/ride down the parade route throwing candy. This parade used to be hours long, these days it is about an hour, but fun for the kids none the less! Below is a picture of three generations of families, the porch held the grandparents, the camping chairs held the parents, and the curb held the kids. It is a nice family affair to watch the parade go by!
The day after the parade was spent on the river. Dave's brother Mike has a boat and a lot along the Susquehanna River. There was a boat ride with the cousins and Grammy.
The boat stopped and it was swimming time. Dave took the kids into the water for a cold swim. The water is clear and the view is breath taking!
After the boat ride, swimming, lunch, a campfire, and more swimming the kids finally were ready to go home and rest.
The visit to Grammy's house was a success! Kids were happy with another fun summer adventure.
