Weekend Inside

The weather is cold again (22 degrees this morning), so we stayed inside most of the weekend. Cora's lacrosse practice was inside the gymnasium instead of out in the field, I decided not to play golf and Dave didn't ride his bike but went for a run on the Appalachian trail instead. There was also a lot of indoor playing.

There was sharing of the iPad playing games, doing puzzles, and coloring pictures.
There was baking crazy sugar cookies . . . didn't turn out very well because the kids treated the dough like Play-Doh and made more of a mess then cookies.
Most of the cookies we made were created by mom & dad. We got tired quickly and this activity didn't last too long.
It seemed like a cute activity. . .but I will get out the cookie cutters for next time as well as the sprinkles to allow them to decorate some basic shapes and see how that goes.
We also did the mini-sponge capsules. Little gel covered capsules that when dropped in warm water the gel covering disolves and shapes form. This was the bug collection. After we dissolve the capsules they become bath toys for a while until thrown out. The kids love to see what happens when the capsule "pops" and something takes shape!
