Cora has been doing really well on her Glide Bike (below) all Winter and last week started to ask if she could take her training wheels off and have a big girl bike....
I was hesitant at first, after all, is this the same girl who screamed bloody murder and painfully embarrassed me at the park because she was so scared of her bike that she kept jumping off and sitting on the ground crying... that same little girl can't be standing in front of me less then 6 months later asking for her training wheels to come off...Well, Dave said that we can always put them back on if needed so he stopped eating dinner (she asked us about 10 times during dinner and as soon as she was finished she asked one more time...) and went outside and took them off.
Cora was so excited. She was ready, she was jumping up and down and just couldn't wait to try.
Dave took her outside, lowered her seat just a little so she could reach the ground better, and let her give it a try.
It was EXTREMELY WINDY so she only tried a few times. She was able to keep balanced once started but couldn't start or turn. The wind was literally knocking her over. She was frustrated with the "silly wind." But we promised to let her try again tomorrow... so she reluctantly agreed and we came inside. When she went to bed that night she made sure to remind us that she was going to practice again on her new bike tomorrow!!
