Gymnastics has ended and it is time for swim lessons!! Oh what fun!! This time both kids were excited!!
This was Luke's first event that Cora was not a part of. She has been with him for gymnastics and school, but this was his first try at something without her there with him.He was very excited as we waited for his class to start and when it was time he walked right in and sat down by the edge of the pool. Mr. Matt, his instructor, put his bubble on as we were all walking out and Luke never looked back.
Dave and I were worried about how he would do, I think we were more worried then he was! During the summer Luke had a bubble but didn't swim strong enough to keep himself afloat. He would use the bubble along with another flotation device to help himself stay above water so we were interested to see what he would do when it was time for him to swim across the pool.
Turns out, he did fine. He figured it out and managed to have a big smile on his face in the process. He loved his teachers and can't wait to go back.
Cora was watching her brother and waiting for her class to start. She was excited at first but when she saw the Mr. Matt (the teacher from last year who scared her) was going to be her teacher she became very hesitant and backed up against the wall.
I started to get nervous but reminded her that her soccer coaches were both boys and that she LOVES soccer so she should try it. She was still nervous as kids were sitting down by the edge of the pool and I had flashbacks to last year's swim lessons and began to wonder if she would be ok. I told her to try it and if she didn't like it she could sit on the bench and watch, she cautiously walked over to the edge of the pool and sat down. Swim lessons started and she was fine.
By the end she was giving Mr. Matt a "high five" and said thank you to both teachers. Very proud of both kids!!
