It was a one hour drive - we left at 7:30 and arrived in Baltimore by 8:30.
By the time we were parked and walked down to the Aquarium it was time to pick up our tickets (pre-ordered online) and head inside.
The kids found the bubble tubes that I was in LOVE with as a child. It is amazing that they are still there!
As soon as we started Luke began shouting. I don't think he stopped yelling all day.
He kept pointing and shouting "I see them."
"There they are."
"SHARK!!! Watch out Luke!!"
"Fish Mommy Daddy, FISH!"
Don't let me fool you - Cora was very excited too. She was talking to everyone, asking them if they see the fish and telling everyone that "This is my brother Luke, he likes the fish."
The tropical rainforest was fun because of all the birds. Both Cora and Luke would NOT make good bird watchers in real life because they were "tweeting" at all the birds!
We also attended a 4-D movie about the rainforest with Dora and Diego. Although the water squirting from the seats scared the kids the bubbles, wind, and vibrations were a hit. Cora's favorite - the glasses. Cora cried when we had to leave because she wanted to watch it again!
After the movie and snacks was the Dolphin Show. This is where the wheels started to fall off of the truck. . . waiting for the show to start. The wait nearly killed all of us. Bribes didn't deter them for long, not one but TWO lollipops were provided to help with the wait!
When the show finally happened they enjoyed it but there wasn't enough action for these two. Luke must have driven everyone crazy and Cora kept saying she was finished!
Here the trainer and dolphin said hello.
The grand finale and we finally see some dolphins jumping!!
Sight seeing in Baltimore (briefly) while we were there:
Phillips Seafood House - we could only look - no way our picky eaters would touch anything in there :-(
USS Something or Other (There were a million ships in the harbor - famous and not so famous - kids liked looking at them!)
Fort McHenry Poor grass is all dead - darn drought!! Wonder what the 4th of July Celebrations will look like if everywhere is a fire hazard!?!
AND. . . Last but not least . . . was a fun "DragonBoat Ride" around a small part of the harbor. It was over 90 degrees in the shade. . . HOT ride! Good day - but TIRING!!! We all fell asleep on the way home.
