Labor Day Weekend

My cousin David and his girlfriend Diane came to visit from New York during the long weekend.  We were delighted to have them visit and hope to see them again soon!

Friday:
After work we went to Greenbriar and stayed until sunset - there will not be many more swimming trips to the park so we wanted to spend as much time as we could there.  We met Ms. Amy, Carrie, and Atlee for swimming and sandcastles.

Saturday:
After Luke's attempt at a morning nap we headed over to the Catoctin Zoo for an afternoon of animal sounds (and smells ;-).   The adults had as much fun as the kids did seeing some of our favorite animals.

Feeding the goats and "baby deer."
Touch the lizard.
Turtles!!
Family portrait!! ;-)
"Look up there!"
Camel ride!!

Later, after dinner we walked down the street to visit the Bono Family for an evening campfire.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect and as always, the kids ran around and had a wonderful time.  Smores, fire roasted marsh-mellows, chocolate, and adult beverages ;-)

Sunday:
David and Diane headed to Baltimore and went to see an Orioles game!!  While they were gone Dave and I took advantage of the kid's nap time by cleaning out the garage and moving the summer time items down to the basement.

The day was finished off with a "Cora sized fire" in the backyard fire pit with the adults trading stories and lost in conversation.

Monday . . . found the kids taking nice long naps, Dave and I getting ready for the work week by grading papers, folding laundry, and going grocery shopping.  Dave also added shelves to my arts and crafts closet which will help me move some items up out of the kids reach!! ;-)

A wonderful weekend and we all hope that David and Diane will be able to come back again soon!
