The week leading up to Luke's 1st Birthday party seems a blur. . . here are some of the things that went into getting ready for the "small" party.
Sunday - after putting it off for long enough I knew that I had to create the menu for Luke's 1st Birthday party - I spent hours on the internet and reading my cooking magazines picking, changing, adjusting and readjusting the menu.
Monday - went to the beer/liquor store. . . . taste tested ;-) the alcoholic drinks to be sure the recipes I picked would work - narrowed from four drinks to two drinks.
Tuesday - finalized the menu with Dave - no more changes - Dave cleaned up the basement.
Wednesday - worked 8-1. In the evening I went to the grocery store to purchase the non-perishable items for the party - searched two grocery stores for some of the ingredients!! Dave picked up from Scott and Lisa the BIG inflatables.
Thursday - spent the day 8-3 in a class for school - then home to work on cleaning up and baked the cupcakes. During the day Dave finished the fence, mowed the lawn, weed-whacked, laid the rest of the mulch and "other" outside yard work.
Friday - Dave took the kids to the zoo to keep them out of the way and I made my last trip to the grocery store. Then it was. . . COOKING. . . ALL. . . DAY . . . until around 10pm.
(THANK YOU to Amy for helping me with the cooking - made the morning go by smoother and calmer :-)
Saturday morning started at 6am and the final clean-up finished around 6pm. . . with some left to Sunday after we receive more energy from a good night's sleep!!
Luke's 1st Birthday party was a success. . . it seemed that kids had fun. . . parents, friends, and family ate well . . . and Luke - well he didn't really understand but he was a happy boy all day.
THANK YOU to everyone who made it to the party!!
THANK YOU to everyone who helped before, during and after the party - we couldn't have done it without you.
Pictures to follow - probably tomorrow - but maybe not . . . still tired :-)
OK . . . OK. . . .OK . . . . just a few pictures to hold you over . . . .
Cora was helping set up the "Moonbounce" (thanks to Scott and Lisa) - in her underwear ;-0
"Waterslide" thanks to Scott and Lisa
