Driving down the driveway we saw a very young fawn running next to us. We quickly stopped the car to allow the baby deer to calm down and eventually move to the right through the trees, over the rock wall, and into the neighbor's cornfield. We were scared that the deer would run out into the road if we continued to drive down the driveway. We were all hoping it was safely out of harm's way and his/her momma was in the cornfield waiting for it!

This morning around 6am Dave was outside feeding the dog when he again saw "Bambi." This time in the corner of the backyard (picture is way out of focus - sorry it was 6am after all!!)
"Bambi" was scared and he just stood in the very back corner of the yard. We opened the front fences and tried to herd him the front of the yard. He ran around the yard like a wild animal (haha) until we finally sent him towards the gate. Unfortunately, he decided to try to squeeze through the fence next to the open gate - but some how he made it through and seems to be unharmed.
We hope that "Bambi" finds his mother soon and we don't see him/her again! Cora hasn't stopped talking about the "baby deer" and its momma in the cornfield!!
