We enjoyed a few days off for snow this week. Wednesday and Thursday school was closed for both Dave and I. Snow days mean movies, arts & crafts, block towers, playing in the snow, and lots of family time.
Getting outside is definitely the highlight of the day!! On Wednesday there wasn't much snow. Just a lot of freezing rain, but finally around 4pm the snow came through and we went outside.
Luke and Cora SHOOT down the slide when it has snow on it!
While outside we made a snow fort (which we improved by making much bigger on Thursday) and a snowman. No sticks for arms or coal for eyes, just rolled and stacked three balls into a snowman. It was getting cold quickly!!
The snow came down at 4" per hour so while we were outside we were literally covered in LOTS of snow!
On Thursday, Brock and Macy came over to play in the snow in the back yard.
We walked around, sledded down our little hill, and played on the swing set.
The kids had a little trouble holding on with their gloves on but still seemed to enjoy themselves even when falling into the snow!
Later in the early afternoon we went down the road to the Bono's house to sled on their hill.
The first few times we helped the kids up the hill but after a while we let them walk up alone. We wanted them nice and tired for naps.
These two were exhausted by the time they got home and did sleep for almost 3 hours!! Cora and her Daddy went skiing later in the evening too while Luke and Mom stayed home to do finger painting and playdough!!
