Cora and Luke are close in age and their birthdays are 2 months apart, this means that they will end up sharing a few presents. For instance, the big gift this Christmas was the swing set. The big gifts for their birthdays is a Artic Cat motorized car and a sandbox (finally filled with sand).
The Artic Cat has been all around the front and back yard, Cora has become much better at driving it and hits less things then she did before. She also doesn't leave Luke behind or "throw" him from the moving vehicle because Luke has learned to hold on and stay sitting down.
Cora likes to wave hello to everyone when she is driving her *car* around.
Just the other day, Cora drove the car to the back of the yard to "check on her apple trees," while back there she and Luke got out and were walking around, playing on the rocks and looking at the apple trees. All of a sudden Luke says, "Daddy SNAKE!" He was giggling and pointing. Upon arrival to the scene - Daddy saw a 4 foot black snake slithering away! Cora shouted, "Lets get outta here!!" and jumped into her car and drove away!!
The other joint present was the sandbox. We purchased the sand and filled the sandbox that Erin's father made as well as the sandbox below the kids new swingset.
Having two sandboxes seemed like a good idea - until Sampson (the dumb dog we still have) decided he liked the sand and started to dig and throw the sand everywhere!?!? SOO, we stopped filling that one with sand and we will see how that area ends up working out?!?
The kids love the sandbox!! They played with it for over 30 minutes - which is a LONG time for these two!! It also brought back happy memories of my sister and I playing in *our* sandbox that my dad made for us when we were kids!! I hope that my kids have as much fun with this as my sister and I did with ours!!
